The difference between sub and slave

The difference between sub and slave can be a fine line. Both will be devoted to serving their Mistress and accept their inferiority as natural and the way that they see things in life and the way they live it. There will be differing opinions on the dividing lines and my take on it is my personal view of the relationship.

 

Types of sub and slaves

There are several types of sub which can be defined as follows:

Type 1

The ‘client sub’ will visit pro-Dommes to scratch his submissive itch. He will, for a fee, get hours of domination sessions mainly aimed at his stated kinks. This can be very satisfying and he may visit several Dommes who will fulfill his needs efficiently and professionally.

He will probably be a successful married man whose kinks are not being explored at home. He can, of course, leave at any time.

Type 2

The difference between sub and slave narrows a bit with the next level of submission which may involve pro-Dommes but in a scenario where a sub will develop a relationship with one Mistress. He will not look for another and will stay faithful to ‘his’ Mistress.

The Mistress will have other subs who She will grade on their usefulness and dedication. The sub will be accepted outside of the session environment and may be allowed to enjoy dinners or leisure time with her. He may have some access to her personal life when he has created trust and proved that he is truly at her service and can be an amusing and interesting companion.

This can develop into a relationship that is pleasurable for both parties ,always bearing in mind who is the Superior and who is the inferior being. He can stop seeing his Mistress but it will be difficult and even more so if he wishes to return.

Type 3

The next level is where a sub can be ‘collared’ by his Mistress and he will supply practical help when and where She wants it. This may be help in building, decorating, IT work or chauffeuring her where She wants to go, for example.

The difference between sub and slave can be quite small at this stage depending on the needs of the Mistress and the availability of the sub. He will need to be available on a very frequent basis at this stage and ready to change any plans he has at a moments notice.

This will suit a single man but may impinge on his work duties as he will need to work to supply a car and any items that the Mistress needs.

This can be the most difficult level for a sub as he is committed to serving his Mistress yet he has to maintain his ‘vanilla’ life to help her. He may also find that his urges in terms of his erotic needs are overtaken by the practicalities of serving and being partially ‘owned’ by the Mistress.

A loving Mistress will help him with these difficulties and encourage him through any difficult periods but if at any stage he feels it becoming too much then he may leave…but will find it impossible to return.

Type 4

The difference between sub and slave is irrelevant when a man becomes a slave to his Mistress. He is no longer a sub but now her slave. This will almost certainly involve signing a contract [or watch my video about FLR contract with my sub, MK] that will give up his freedom and give all power to Her.

In one way, it is freedom as he lets go of any pretence at independence and commits himself to Her financially, physically and mentally. He lets go of any ambition beyond serving and pleasing his Mistress.

This can be liberating but the commitment is total and her word is law. He will become her servant in every way and can be a frightening thought. To give up your ‘life’ to serve a Mistress must not be taken lightly in any way.

The Mistress will care for her slave as a valued part of her life but it is HER life that counts not his at the end of the day. There is no turning back at this stage….

Despite these caveats the slave will have achieved a position in his Mistress’s life that many will envy. He will be the one She turns to in times of trouble and She will love him for it. He may be punished for mistakes and perhaps humiliated on occasion but he will see those things as her need for perfection and, ultimately, her love for him.

She is a Mistress, after all, and deserves the best. He will be proud to be the best for Her.

Conclusion

The difference between sub and slave is massive when taken at each end of the spectrum of a D/s relationship but narrows as the relationship develops. Communication is the key and will allow the sub and the Mistress to find the best path for their journey and, if successful, will lead to the right relationship for both. After all, the Mistress is made to rule and the slave to serve.
